While trying to find the UPS store I came across this place. It wasn't that busy when I came in , so had the whole place to myself. Hossum was working and was telling about the place and the food they serve. They offer a lunch buffet but can never make it because of my work location. I was so happy this place had my favorite dish called butter chicken. The sauce of the dish was so creamy and had just the right amount of spicy too it. Would highly recommend this place because of the high quality ingredients they use and perfect service.
We had the pleasure of dining at Namak Mandi for two consecutive days, and our experience was truly memorable. The ambiance reflects the heart of Pakistani culture, complete with the famous Imran Khan corner, which seems to be the go-to spot for guests—it adds a nostalgic and lively touch to the restaurant. The food itself is a testament to authentic Pakistani flavors. From the rich aroma of spices to the beautifully hung naan and roti, every detail speaks of tradition and culinary artistry. The savor pulao was delightful, carrying the same depth of flavor we associate with home. However, the shami kabab could use a bit of refinement—the taste didn’t quite match the level of those found in Islamabad or Lahore, and perhaps revisiting the ingredients would enhance it further. One standout aspect was the staff’s attentiveness and care. They worked diligently to ensure guests felt welcome, and their ability to memorize orders was impressive. That said, having order-taking notebooks could be a good safeguard against accidental mix-ups, ensuring a smoother dining experience. A couple of areas that could be improved include the temperature control, as the restaurant felt a bit warm inside—adjusting the AC accordingly would enhance comfort. Additionally, the pricing felt on the higher side, and making it more competitive could attract an even wider audience. Overall, Namak Mandi is a fantastic spot for those craving a genuine Pakistani dining experience, especially if you're tired of the usual gyros and chicken over rice. Despite a few minor areas for improvement, this is a restaurant that delivers rich flavors, cultural authenticity, and a memorable atmosphere!
Honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to hands down. Their buffet in DC is one that cannot be beat. Literally for 20 all you can eat buffet is such a good deal. Service is amazing, all the workers treat everyone nicely and the restaurant itself is spacious and good vibes. Definitely recommend this to anyone, 10/10!
Absolutely fantastic! Namak Mandi is a true gem. We had the pleasure of trying their Chicken Biryani, Bhindi, and Chicken Karhai, and each dish was incredibly flavorful and tasted authentically prepared. We were also pleasantly surprised by their unique way of serving the naan – a delightful touch! Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and we would eagerly visit again whenever we're in the DMV area. Highly recommend!
I have been in the USA for two years, and visiting Namak Mandi gave me a nostalgic experience. It felt like I was sitting in my hometown of Peshawar, enjoying the food. The dishes were authentically Pakistani, capturing both the taste and culture perfectly. The way the chef prepared our meals reminded me of Khan Chana, who used to cook the same naan for us when I lived in Peshawar. namak Mandi is one of the most authentic Pakistani restaurants I have experienced in the United States, with a 99.9% accuracy in replicating the flavors. The restaurant staff was very welcoming, and the washrooms were sparkling clean. If you are looking for authentic Halal Pakistani Cousine then Namak Mandi should be on your bucket list!
This restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience, characterized by its warm ambiance and attentive service. The menu features a diverse selection of dishes, each prepared with fresh ingredients and expert craftsmanship. Highlights include the perfectly seasoned chapli kabob, which is tender and bursting with flavor. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, making recommendations that enhance the meal. Overall, it’s a great spot for both casual dining and special occasions, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere.
Fantastic buffet and one of only a few mom and pop shops left in this part DC (White House, center city, McPherson). It is Pakinstani and offers a wide range of veg and meat options heavy with ghee and very well spiced. Fresh tandoori naan bread brough to your table freshy baked. You can order a la carte but the deal is in the buffet. I loved the dal, swag, channa masala, chicken machining, tandoori all of which delighted my taste buds. Friendly and attentive service. My big critique is that they weren't ready for lunch at 12:30pm. It will be hard to capture the tourist community during the slow summer months if they don't have an earlier lunch start, but the rest is top notch.
Clean and decent ambience. We have tried lunch buffet, all the items are tasty. Fresh Roti/Naan is a must try. reasonable price for the buffet
